Ah, the classic GM struggle! Diving into “Trouble in Waterdeep” and realizing the cartographer took a vacation when it came to the grainery. Fear not, fellow world-builders, for necessity is the mother of invention (and in this case, delicious-smelling invention)!
Since a map for the grainery was MIA, I rolled up my sleeves (virtually, thanks to the magic of technology) and crafted one myself. But being me, I couldn't just replicate a boring storage space. Nope! With the glorious gift that is Dungeon Alchemist, I decided to give this pivotal location a serious upgrade: it's now a bakery!
Sometimes, when the official maps leave you hanging, it's the perfect opportunity to inject your own creative flair. A bakery just felt… right. It offers so many more possibilities for encounters, descriptions, and maybe even a tasty red herring or two. Plus, who doesn't love the idea of a tense negotiation happening amidst the aroma of freshly baked goods?
So, if you're also venturing into the “Trouble in Waterdeep” and found yourself mapless in the grainery, take heart! Embrace the blank space and see it as a chance to build something unique and memorable. And if you have Dungeon Alchemist in your arsenal, well, the only limit is your imagination (and maybe how many different types of bread you can realistically fit into one building). Stay tuned to see if my players try to bribe the baker with experience points for a free croissant!
