Crown of the Oathbreaker Session 4

Crown of the Oathbreaker: A Royal Funeral Gone Wrong, and a Coronation Catastrophe!

In our latest session of Crown of the Oathbreaker, the party found themselves amidst the somber aftermath of the King's murder. After a quick rules clarification regarding magical wands and a bit of party inventory management, they were honored with an invitation to the King's funeral procession, courtesy of Lord Mondor. The solemn procession took a dark turn when, during the internment, a vengeful spirit manifested, accusing someone within the Royal Mausoleum of murder. This revelation cast a shadow of suspicion over the party, and hinted at deeper, darker secrets within the royal family.

Days later, Lord Mondor, visibly troubled, summoned the party again, this time to attend the Princess's coronation. He expressed his unease, fearing something might go awry, and shared his suspicions about a mysterious cult and the King's murder, suggesting a larger, more sinister plot. To prepare them, he generously provided 500 gold pieces.

The coronation ceremony, held in the grand throne room, was a scene of regal splendor—until it was violently interrupted by a werewolf attack! A chaotic and intense battle ensued, with the party fighting tooth and nail against the monstrous intruders. Amidst the chaos and some technical difficulties, the party managed to survive.

Seeking refuge, they found themselves in Ricio's bar, which was quickly transformed into a secure haven. Here, the true extent of the city's peril was revealed: the Queen had become a hag, the guards monstrous, and the city itself was plagued by unnatural phenomena. The party, facing dire circumstances, began to contemplate their next move, knowing they might need to leave the city. With Anton nursing his wounds, they prepared for the challenges ahead, knowing a level up was on the horizon. The session ended on a cliffhanger, leaving the party to grapple with the city's descent into madness and the looming threat of the mysterious cult.
